SECTION 2
Lesson 2.1 Working with Excel

To print your worksheet, locate the printer icon on the standard toolbar, and left click it. This action will print the active worksheet. You can also click on the File menu and select Print from the menu items. Clicking the Print menu option will display the print dialogue box.

From this dialogue box you can choose whether to print an entire workbook, an active sheet or sheets, or a selection. Choosing Entire workbook will print every worksheet in the workbook. Choosing active sheet(s) will print only the active sheets. If you select data on your worksheet, choosing Selection will print only the selected data.

You can also click the preview button to get an idea of what your printed copy will look like.

In the print preview screen you can zoom in on your data if you need a closer look, by clicking with the magnifying glass pointer. You can click also go to the preview screen by clicking the print preview button on the standard toolbar. You will learn more about printing workbooks in later in lesson 4.3.

Pressing the Ctrl + P keys is another way to display the Print dialogue box.

Note: clicking the printer icon on the standard toolbar does not invoke the Print dialogue box.
