Start Excel
2003 by double clicking the Excel icon or by using the start
menu
Start->Programs->Microsoft Office->Microsoft Office 2003

When you see
the Excel screen, click the Open button on the standard
toolbar or select
File->Open
from the file menu

When you see
the Open dialogue box browse to your Excel 2003 practice
folder, select the file More Weather, and Open it.

You should
see the following Worksheet.


Now suppose
we find out that all of the temperature observations made by
Janet were actually made by Wendy, that is, every cell in the
Observer column that contains Janet’s name should contain
Wendy’s name. To replace Janet with Wendy, click on the Edit
menu and select Find. Use Edit->Find
or the Shift +F5
keys

Next, Click
the Replace tab on the Find and Replace dialogue
box when it appears.

Type the
name Janet in the Find what
field, and the name Wendy in the
Replace with field.

Click the
Replace All button, and every instance of the name Janet
will be replaced with the name Wendy.
You should
receive the following message.

Click OK
and examine the worksheet to see what has changed.

Use
File -> Save As, to save the
workbook as the new file More Weather 2 in your Excel
2003 practice folder, and then close Excel. |
