Lesson 3.1: Modifying Cells and Data

   

 

 

In this exercise you will practice changing the font size and colour of multiple cells in a worksheet.

 

1.

Start Excel 2003 by double clicking the Excel icon or by using the start menu

Start->Programs->Microsoft Office->Microsoft Office Excel 2003.

When you see the Excel screen, select File->Open from the menu bar or click the Open button on the standard toolbar to display the Open file dialogue box.

 

 

Navigate to your Excel 2003 practice folder, select the Date Data file, and click the Open

When you see this worksheet, select the range of data under the D and E columns. You can do this By dragging the thick cross pointer, or by clicking cell D1, pressing Shift, and then clicking cell E26.

Text Box: Font color

 

 

 

Once you have the range selected, click on the Font colour button on the formatting toolbar, and select the colour Aqua from the drop down colour palette.

The next step is to display the font size drop list on the font size button. In the formatting toolbar.

 

 

Once the list is displayed, select the 14 point font from the list.

Click anywhere outside the selected range, and you will now see a larger font with an aqua marine colour in the D and E columns.

Click the Save button. On the standard toolbar to save your changes under the same file name, and exit Excel.
