If you are unhappy with the appearance of your chart, you can right click on the chart and select Format Chart Area to display the Format Chart Area dialogue box.

 

Notice that when you click on the chart area, the chart toolbar will be displayed, and the chart area will have small dark squares attached to the corners and sides. Dragging on these (move handles) squares will resize the chart.

 

 

The format chart area box gives you options for adding patterns, fill effects, and for changing the fonts and properties of the chart.

 

Selecting the Patterns tab, presents you with options to change the colour, fill effects, and border style of the chart.

 

The options under the Font tab let you change the font style, font size, and font colour of any text in the chart.

The options under the Properties tab let you specify the behaviour of the chart when the size of the cells near the chart is changed.
