SECTION 1
Lesson 1.3: Using Outlook Profiles

You can only configure Outlook profiles using the Mail icon in the Control Panel. Here’s how we get there (some of the steps below have multiple methods; this is in case your computer is configured differently):

  1. Click the Start menu and click Control Panel. (If you don’t see Control Panel, choose Settings and then click Control Panel.)
  2. Double-click the Mail icon. (If you don’t see that icon, click User Accounts and then click Mail.)

Here’s what we’ll see when we open this window:

At the top (circled in red in the sample above) is the name of the current Outlook profile. We also have the following options:

-       E-mail Accounts: Opens the e-mail account wizard (the same window you would get if you clicked the Tools menu and clicked E-mail Accounts).

-       Data Files: Opens the Data File Management window (the same window you would get if you clicked the File menu and clicked Data File Management).

-       Show Profiles: Opens the profile dialog box.

We’ve covered the first two options in the mail setup window; now let’s take a look at the Show Profiles dialog box.
