SECTION 2
Lesson 2.3: Composing E-Mail

There’s nothing worse than being in the middle of an important task and getting called away to do something else. Most Microsoft Office programs, like Word and Excel, offer you the ability to save what you were working on so you can finish it later. But can Outlook do that?

The answer is, of course it can! Outlook saves unfinished e-mail in the drafts folder. You can either save it by clicking the File menu and choosing Save, clicking on the  icon on the formatting toolbar, or by pressing Ctrl S. Outlook will also save a draft for you after you’ve been working on an e-mail for 5 minutes. (It will delete the draft copy after you send the e-mail.) In addition, if you close an e-mail you’ve been working on without saving or sending it, Outlook will ask you if you want to save it.

To finish an e-mail, just open the drafts folder, open your message, and continue on as usual. It’s that easy!
