Lesson 1.1: Introduction

   

 

 

Photoshop CS is a recent version of Adobe’s premier digital image processing tool, commonly referred to as Photoshop. Photoshop CS offers all of the strengths and functionality of earlier versions plus some knew refinements and features. You can use Photoshop CS to touch up or repair digital photos, to create special effects and enhancements for your images, to create custom graphic elements, and to prepare graphics and images for presentation on the Web.

 

Though primarily geared for working with bitmap images, Photoshop does provide options for creating and manipulating vector graphics and text. Photoshop is widely used on both Mac and Windows platforms, and is considered the industry leader for bitmap image manipulation.
