Now it is time to explore the Photoshop CS screen. Almost all popular software tools today have a user interface as a major component. The user interface is what lets you interact with and control the options, features, and functions of the application. With Photoshop CS, the user interface is comprised of menus, toolbars, and groups of small windows (palettes). There are other components of the user interface as well, like dialog boxes and file browsers, which are accessible through the menus and toolbars.
In this lesson, you will be introduced to the Photoshop CS screen. You will learn about the Photoshop menu bar, the status bar, the Photoshop toolbox, and about palettes and windows. In the exercise at the end of the lesson, you will explore the Photoshop CS screen.
