SECTION 1
Lesson 1.3: File Management Basics

Being able to manage files and documents is an important part of working with any software application. This is especially true with Photoshop, as many of its tools can alter an image significantly. Though Photoshop is quite forgiving when it comes to undoing changes, conscientious file management is necessary to be sure that you don’t lose or damage your important images.

In this lesson, you will learn about the new Photoshop CS file browser. You will learn how to open image files, how to create a new file, how to save your work, and how to close a file. You will also learn how to revert to a saved file, understand file formats, and add reference notes to a file.
