SECTION 1
Lesson 1.4: Modifying your Photoshop Layout

Once you have your Photoshop workspace set up the way you like, you can save it so you can easily retrieve the set up when you need it. To do this, make sure that your workspace is laid out just the way you want, and then choose Window->Workspace->Save Workspace from the menu bar. This will display the Save Workspace dialog box.

Enter a name for your workspace in the name field, and click the save button to save it. Now, you will be able to easily display this workspace, by choosing Window->Workspace from the menu bar. When you perform this action, the names of your saved workspaces will appear in a sub menu. If you click on one of these names, your Photoshop screen will immediately assume the corresponding layout.

You may find that working with certain image files requires a specific set of palettes and a particular screen layout. With workspace presets, you can save a selection of layouts that are designed around your varying image editing requirements.
