SECTION 2
Lesson 2.2: Introduction to Photoshop Palettes

Palettes are areas where features, settings and options for Photoshop tools are grouped. You can use a particular palette to setup or refine how the related tools and functions operate.

Palettes can be located singly, or in groups if you require. You can customize and save your palette arrangement in a way that is best suited to how you like to work. Along with the toolbox, the Photoshop palettes are arguably the most essential components of the Photoshop application.

In this lesson, you will learn some of the features of the more prominent Photoshop palettes, including the colour palettes, the history and actions palettes, and the navigation and info palettes.

You will also receive a gentle introduction to the layers, channels, and paths palettes. In the practice exercise, you will use the history palette to selectively undo changes to an image.
