Sometimes you may want your selection to keep its basic shape, but be larger or smaller than its current size.
You can resize a selection by right clicking on the image containing the selection, and choosing the Transform selection option from the menu that appears.
This will place a box with small, square “move handles” around the outside perimeter of the selection.
An example of this is shown in the following image.
If you drag one of the move handles (small boxes) on the top, bottom, or sides of the perimeter box, the selection will be expanded in that direction.
To scale the selection, you would drag on a move handle at one of the corners of the perimeter box. Dragging outward will increase the size of the selection in all dimensions proportionally.
To implement the changes to your selection, click the check mark button that will appear in the options bar when you choose the Transform selection option.
To discard the changes, and remove the perimeter box, click the Cancel transform button (circle with diagonal line through it). Here is the same selection as before, after its scale was increased by dragging the corner move handle on the perimeter box.
To decrease the scale, simply drag a corner “move handle” inward toward the center of the box.
