SECTION 2
Lesson 2.3: More on Layers

There may be times when you want to link two or more layers in such a way that they can be moved around the image together, without losing their individual layer qualities.

To do this, first select one of the layers that you would like to move. In the list of layers, click in the empty square beside the eye icon for any layers that you want to link to the selected layer. You will see an icon depicting a small section of chain will appear where you click. All of the linked layers can be moved together at one time with the move tool.

In this example, the layers named sunflower 1 and sunflower 2 have been linked together. If the move tool is used when either of the linked layers is selected, the layers can be dragged around the image window together.

To unlink a layer, just click on the chain icon positioned next to the eye icon for the given layer.
