Lesson 1.3: Setup PowerPoint To Automatically Correct Text

   

 

 

1.

Go to Tools, Select AutoCorrect Options.

 

 

2.

Under the AutoCorrect tab, check or uncheck option boxes.

 

 

 

3.

In the Replace with option.

 

 

4.

Type: Custem in Replace, Custom in With.

 

 

5.

Select Add.

 

 

6.

Select Exceptions.

 

 

7.

Type: ex. In Don’t capitalize after.

Note: You can also turn off the Auto Correct feature when typing, the AutoCorrect icon will show when a word has been corrected to reverse, select the icon.

 

 

8.

Click Add.

 

 

9.

Click OK.

 

 

10.

Go to AutoFormat as you type.

 

 

11.

Check or Uncheck AutoFormat options.

 

 

 

12.

Click OK.

 

 

13.

Select the Smart tag tab.

 

 

14.

Check the Label text with smart tags box, to enable.

 

 

 

 

15.

To add more smart tags, Select More Smart Tags.

 

 

16.

To save smart tags to the presentation, so they are always available, check Embed smart tags in the presentation.

 

 

17.

Click OK.

 

 

18.

Open existing presentation or new presentation.

 

 

20.

Open text box.

 

 

19.

Type: The scheduled meeting with Alice Smith will be held on December 10th 2005.

 

 

20.

December 10th will have a dotted purple line underneath.

 

 

21.

Select the arrow down on the smart tag indicator.

 

 

22.

Select Show my Calendar.

 

 

 

22.

Review or enter tasks scheduled for December 10th.
