Click the
Start Menu, choose
All Programs, choose
Accessories, and choose the
System tools menu. Click Disk
Defragmenter.

Analyze your hard disk to see if a
disk defrag is required. If so, click
Defragment.

|

When finished,
close Disk Defragmenter. |

|

Click the
Start button and select
Run.

In the Run box type
chkdsk.
 |

|
|

Hit the
OK button. Note the three
phases a Check Disk goes through.

Open
Device Manager.

|

Expand the
Display Adapters category.

|
|

Right click on your
display
adapter and select
Properties.

|
|

Select the
Driver tab of the Properties
window.

Note the Driver Provider
and the Driver date. |

|

Close all open windows and return
to your desktop. |

|

At the blank desktop
open the Task
Manager window.

|

Click the
Processes tab of Task
Manager.

|

Click the
View menu and click
Select
Columns.

|

Check
Memory
Usage. Hit the
OK button.

|

Click on the
Mem Usage column header to
sort the list by Memory Usage.

Note the program that is
using the most memory. |

Close Task Manager.
