System Restore is a utility that allows you to restore your computer to a previous working state in case a problem should occur. Without losing your personal data (pictures, e-mail, documents), System Restore monitors changes made to your computer and automatically creates “restore points” for you.
These restore points are referred to as checkpoints as they are automatically created during certain system functions like installing a driver or installing an application. You also have the option to manually create a restore point and undo a restore point. System Restore requires 200MB of disk space to create a data store to store system restore points. System Restore can be useful if a problem suddenly appears.
