SECTION 2
Lesson 2.2: Advanced Networking

To map a network drive you must already have a working network. The Tools menu from the My Computer window allows you to map a network drive or disconnect a network drive. Once a network drive has been mapped it will show as an icon inside My Computer. You may map any network resource, not just folders. Below are the steps to map a network resource:

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Select the Tools menu and select Map Network Drive. The following window will appear:

  1. Click the Browse button to browse to your desired network share.
  2. Check the optional box for Reconnect at Logon. (You can also connect to the share using a different username than your Windows username.)
  3. Click the Finish button.
