SECTION 4
Lesson 4.2: Windows Movie Maker

With Windows Movie Maker you can capture video and audio to your computer. A supported video capture device must be installed on your computer. Some of the supported capturing devices are:

  • Digital video

  • Analog camera or VCR

  • Web Camera

  • TV tuner card

  • Microphone

Capturing video is a little different. Here are the steps to capture video:

  1. From the Capture Video Movie Tasks menu, select Capture from a video device. This will open the Video Capture Wizard, seen in the below picture.

  1. The first window of the Video Capture Wizard allows you to select your capturing device. You may also configure your audio input device, audio input source, microphone input level and configure your camera and video settings. Click Next to continue.

  2. The next window allows you to specify a file name and location for your movie.

  1. The next window allows you to adjust your video settings, such as bit rate, display size, and other video related settings.

  1. The final window of the Video Capture Wizard allows you to capture your video through start and stop buttons. Additional options are: Create clips when wizard finishes, Mute speakers, and Capture time limit (which can be adjusted manually.) Click the Finish button to complete the Video Capture Wizard.
