
This icon will open the Add or
Remove Programs window. This is the central location for adding,
removing, or modifying installed programs and Windows components. The
majority of the window lists your installed programs and pertinent
information (such as Size, Used, and Last Used On). This way you can use
the Sort by option at the top of the window to sort by category. There
will also be a Show Updates checkbox available at the top of the window.
This enables or disables viewing installed Windows XP updates.
There are also some helpful
options on the left preview pane of the window. These are:

Launches the Windows
Components Wizard. This wizard easily allows you to add or
remove a component of Windows XP. Once a feature has been
removed you will not see it in your Start Menu area. A Details
button is also available for some components. |

for certain activities like browsing, e-mail, and media. |
