As you learned earlier, the default location for saving, viewing, and managing your pictures is the My Pictures folder. Let’s open this window so we can learn some more about viewing and managing our pictures with the help of Windows XP.
As you can see from the above window we are in a Filmstrip view. This enables you to view your pictures on a slideshow layout, with additional options to rotate your images.
Besides the default Filmstrip view, you may also use these views: Thumbnails, Tiles, Icons, List, and Details. There are also helpful options in the tasks pane (on the left) to help you manage your photos. Some of the available options are: View as a slide show (a full-screen feature), Print pictures, and Copy all items to CD.
You may have also noticed that the right click menus have changed. This is because of the file type you are right clicking on, enabling you to have quick access to programs that can help you with picture files.
