Music can be stored on many different types of digital devices. Most modern digital devices allow you to play CD quality music, and will play music for hours on end. Some devices only allow you to transfer music from your computer to the device (usually involving proprietary software), while some devices (such as memory cards) will allow you to transfer songs to the device also.
It is important to note that this type of transferring of music does not involve the Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard as the files being transferred are not a picture or video file. Instead most devices will show up as a temporary drive letter inside My Computer. This drive letter can be opened which allows you to copy, paste, and delete files on the device.
In the above window you can see how My Computer classifies devices differently. In the above example we have a Logitech QuickCam Web (webcam), and a digital camera (capable of videos and pictures) plugged into the computer. The QuickCam Web is classified as a Scanner and Camera device while the digital camera is classified as a Removable Storage device (Removable Disk (J:).
