SECTION 4
Lesson 4.3: Managing Music

As you learned earlier, a great place for saving your music is the My Music folder in Windows XP. This is also the music you can use to manage and listen to. Let’s open this window up so we can learn some more about viewing and managing our music.

As you can see from the above window we are in the My Music folder. There are some folders and shortcuts listed in the window. There are also helpful new tasks listed in the preview pane on the left hand side. You can also see that we are able to add or remove column titles to our layout to allow for better organization. The available column titles will help you sort and arrange your music so you can find what you are looking for. (If you do not see the column titles, click the View menu and click Details.)

There are two ways to access this feature. You can right-click on the column title bar to show the short-cut menu and click your desired option. Or, you can select the View Menu and select Choose Details.

Once you have enabled the column titles you want you can now sort the contents of the My Music folder by this category. To do this, just click on the column title at the top of the column. This would then arrange the contents of the folder in that particular order. You may also click on the title again to sort in the reverse order.
