Lesson 1.2: Using Language Tools

   

 

 

There are now a few ways to look for meanings, synonyms, antonyms, and homonyms for your words. One way is to open the research pane and choose a thesaurus or dictionary to search in, like this:

 

 

Remember that you can hold the Alt key and click a word to bring it up in the research pane. You can also use one of these commands which are specific to the thesaurus:

-          Shift + F7

-          Click the Tools menu, choose Language, and click Thesaurus

 

You can also right-click on a word and choose Synonyms to see a list of words that mean the same thing as the selected Word. Here’s an example:

 

 

You can then click any of the synonyms to replace the selected word with that word. You can also click Thesaurus to launch the research pane and search for that word in the thesaurus.
