SECTION 1
Lesson 1.5: Toolbar Specifics

Now that we’ve covered the fundamentals of toolbars, let’s get into what each specific toolbar does. We’re not going to go over the hidden toolbars, we’re just going to talk about the ones accessible from the View menu. And, we’re going to talk about a lot of features and concepts that we haven’t covered yet, so focus on the general idea of the toolbar rather than how to use the specific commands. This overview is so you know where to find specific features and commands when you do want to use them.

Remember that some toolbar buttons may have a down arrow (▼) next to them; you can click on this arrow to see more options. As well, some toolbar options are toggle buttons, meaning you use them to turn a feature on or off. These buttons will appear coloured or depressed if the feature is on; just click it to turn it off. Be aware that some buttons cannot be turned off until another item is selected. Also, you may have additional toolbars listed that are not covered here; these would be toolbars added by other applications. (For example, Adobe Acrobat adds a toolbar to Word to enable you to create PDF files.)
